A Barn for Tuesday

I don't remember if Barn Charm was on Monday or Tuesday, but I think I posted on Tuesday. Even though the meme is no more, I'm posting a barn.

I found this one on the way to the first tiny town I visited last Saturday. There once was a house on this property, but it is gone now.
All that remains is a dilapidated barn, a silo without a roof, and a slowly deteriorating shed—a mere suggestion of what once was a flourishing farm.
Something draws me toward these dead and dying barns and old houses. I want to know their story, but they cannot speak.

I like these photos. It's the historical value that draws me to stop and look always.

PS...I always enjoyed Burl Ives -post below this one.

I love these old barns too.

I think barn charm was on Mondays, but it didn't go up until 6 pm, so I believe a lot of people waiting until Tuesday to link.

what character. so many places to "air out". if only the "barn could talk"? wouldn't that be fun. i would love to listen. ( :

I like the old barns! I hate to see them disappear, though. Nice rural scene!

I would love to hear a few stories from old barns and abandoned homesteads too.

The stories she could tell! We love the antique barns too.

I spent most of the afternoon today driving around a rural area seeing barns like this dotting the countryside. It's sad when they are neglected like this. Lots of character though, and makes for nice photos.

It's a shame these old barns show their age like we humans do! What fascinates me is the different style of barn from one section of the country to the other.
