Back to last Saturday and a visit with Tex and the Grands. (I should explain. Daughter's nickname is Tex but is not related to TexWisGirl. Daughter merely grew up in Texas, so up here in middle-of-nowhere Illinois, she is often referred to as Tex) Anyway, back to my story...
Fergus was in the back yard playing with his best friend and my youngest grandson, LL.
When suddenly Fergus saw a box, slowly moving across the grass toward him. Oh my! What could it be?
Oh, it was only LL trying to confuse the Ferg. LL and Fergus were running, chasing each other, playing catch with the basketball—basically having a ton of fun—when a fierce chattering began high up a tree in the neighbor's back yard.
Seems Mr. Squirrel wasn't happy with all the noisy laughter. He climbed down from the tree and jumped onto the roof over playground equipment in another neighbor's yard. He continued his rant...
...and continued his rant. So I told him a thing or two and got out my camera.
Mr. Squirrel didn't like having his picture taken, so he took his bad self up into the leaves in a poor attempt to escape the camera lens—all the while still giving us a lecture. Ha! I got him anyway.

How fun!!! I bet Fergus slept most of the night; exhausted.
Cute...and the commentary today was superb.
Hi Love the post. The Squirrel is beautifully lite except when he retires to the tree. Have a wonderful weekend.
What a gorgeous photo of the squirrel atop the wishing well. Would make a lovely note card !

I love this. Great pictures! I think Fergus would get along great with Stella. She is a bi-black Sheltie. We used to have a Border Collie/Coyote mix, Polly. She passed two years ago at 17 1/2 years old. We rescued Stella from Sheltie Rescue a year ago. (She is four now.)
Yes, you did get great shots of the angry little guy. He is like a grumpy old man neighbor! What super pictures of Fergus and the box that came alive. Man, he looks so much like my childhood dog! Mine was a mix, what is Fergus?
What lovely photos :)
They're having fun playing so what is Mr Squirrel so mad about?
I bet Fergus knew the whole time that it was LL ... those Border Collies are smart. Great that they love each other and have so much fun ... too bad the squirrel couldn't join in. That is probably why he was complaining. So much fun, and he wasn't included. Great post, Betty.

Fergus has such perfect teeth! How do you keep them that way?
Funny post! The squirrel is probably suffering from shock!

A delightful story! Nothing better than grandkids!!!
I am not even going to try to do the link...I redid it and it still came up wrong...not the link of our Mama Squirrel...your photos make me miss her. The squirrel you show has the look she had when I first thought about trying to gentle her.
If you are interested, you can go down on the side and click on the label Mama Squirrel...at my Pics and Pieces blog.
And Fergus must be a great companion for your grandchild! So wonderful that he likes kids and likes to play.
Cute post.. Love Fergus and the box photos.. Thank you for sharing your post on Saturday's Critters.. Have a happy day!
