This week my Willy Nilly has a theme. It seems like summer doesn't really want to hang out this year. We've had hot, then cool, back to hot, and now it's cool again. Still, it's that time of the year. All the weeds are going to seed.
1. Queen Anne's Lace has been abundant, but it is slowly ending its run. It is one of my favorite wild flowers. As you can see, the clover flowers are turning brown.
2. I'm not sure what kind of plants caused its seeds to be carried on the wind to the surface of Bro O's pond, but here they are.
3. Thistle is spreading the wealth.
4, Another shot of Queen Anne's Lace through the already brown weeds.
5. I have no idea what this seed pod is, but it has a cool shape.
Happy Friday!

lots of beauty in these. the pond w/ white fluff on it reminded me of cottonwood trees. :)
I have several blog friends who are enjoying cooler temps. Georgia is still having highs in the mid 90's. Your photos are pretty; I don't recognize that last one either. Wishing you a nice Friday.
Beautiful summer shots. It's winter here so it's always nice looking at the other side. :-)
Beautiful flower shots!
The same here with the Queen Annes Lace. I love it too and have many pictures for a post. I love how it forms a little basket then opens up wide. I love your first picture!
You are definitely correct about our summer - but have to say I am enjoying the cooler, less humid days.
As always, I love your images - great barn scene and all the wildflowers.
Lindy
We also have Queen Anne's lace here in Germany (although they probably call it something else). I have always liked it. Our weather has been weird too, but I was happy we got some rain last night.
Happy weekend!
So it is thistle that is flying and floating all around! I love Queen Anne's Lace. We are up and down with the temps too. We are cool right now with no humidity.. yay! So nice sitting under the Oaks! Charming barn nestled behind the Queen Anne's Lace.
i love your wildflower shots. so pretty. have a great weekend.
i keep a thought on your doggie each week. there are several bloggy friends i always recall or think about their doggies. ( :
AWESOME shots. Hug B
Very pretty images tho.....I would like the idea right now if only things would begin to go to seed here...that would mean the inferno is almost done for the year!!
Gorgeous macros.
beautiful photos...kind of makes me sad, i don't want summer to come to an end...it's the one season i hate to see go! have a great weekend!! and thanks for playing!
Wonderful photos! The Queen is one of my faves too.
Queen Anne's Lace is one of my favorite wildflowers too. Beautiful shots and our summer has been delightful a blessed break from the heat and drought of the past two summers. Whatever that last plant is , it is very intriguing. Would love to figure it out. Have a wonderful weekend.
Loved your willy nilly....
Beautiful photos and a great barn scene! I like it!
I love country scenes and the first photo is just beautiful! All of your images are lovely. I'm visiting from Tanya's party...have a nice weekend!
It certainly has been a strange summer! #5 is some sort of Allium, maybe a wild onion.
Lovely shots! I enjoy Queen Anne's Lace too.
The weeds have been thriving here. Do you have poisonous Wild parsnip? I've got another rash. sigh.
