Rubbish, Duck, Flower, Flower

Today is Spring Cleanup in our village. Everyone takes their no-longer-useful items and kicks them to the curb. Well we would kick them to the curb if we had one. We have sidewalks, a ditch, and then the street. Anyway, I digress, the whole point I'm trying to make is this day is all about rubbish. Get it? Rubbish?

Yesterday, Hubs hauled a year's worth of accumulated rubbish out to the ditch. Those items included the old grill, misshapened tomato cages,  and decorative fencing, an old full-of-holes trash can, and other items too numerous to mention.

This morning, our huge pile has morphed into a tiny pile. The scavengers were out in force, proving that old saying, "One man's trash is another man's treasure." As I've said before, sometimes gems can be found in a garbage heap. I guess some people dug through our rubbish and found something of value.

Hopefully, the offerings below will not be considered rubbish...
...like handsome Mr. Mallard

I don't know what kind of tree this is, but it is right outside the office window. It makes for a beautiful view each spring.

And last, but not least, this orchid.

Happy Saturday!

The offerings are certainly not rubbish! They are treasures for sure, for anyone lucky enough to visit here. Great photos...I love the macro and the mallard. I always think those guys know how handsome they are and are proud of themselves! I wish we had a day like your rubbish day...we're looking at a trip to Goodwill/the dump before we leave for the season.

I know that in the past when I have things at the curb they too are almost gone prior to the 'real' garbage man picking them up.

Lovely shots..I especially like that last flower shot..just stunning! :)

Well first may I just say that the Rubbish Day sounds quite fascinating. So glad your pile was diminished by those who found it useful.

Your Photos were certainly no Rubbish at all.
Gorgeous shot of Mr. Mallard, I love their coloring.
Beautiful blooms. Looks like an Apple tree to me but I could be mistaken.
Lastly that Orchid shot is amazing (and a bit creepy) It sort of reminded me of the creature from the movie, Predator. But wow you got great detail there.

Lovely shots. There is never rubbish in your posts, only in your name. You've reminded me that I could round up some rubbish to get rid of.

I am not a fan of clutter. At the same time it's kind of fun to scavenger and find a hidden treasure.

Your tree blossom and macro flower shots are beautiful.
