Blue, Red, and Yellow Plus Some

Guess what? I didn't go to work yesterday (Saturday)! I will probably go this afternoon for a while, but NOT all day. The Democratic party has picked a candidate to run for Circuit Clerk in November.  The newly appointed clerk begins his reign next week, which means I go back to doing ONE job. Yay!!! All those other responsibilities are gone. I feel like a building has been lifted from my shoulders. I just hope, if he is good at the job, he wins in November. Otherwise we will be back to another new clerk.

Of course, I didn't get to lounge around on my day off. I spent the entire day dancing with Mrs. Mop! Have I mentioned how much I dislike housework? I used to enjoy it, now I would much rather play.
The sunflowers were a busy place Friday night. Indigo Bunting.
Mr. Cardinal and his wife, but she wouldn't show herself.
The Goldfinches were dining, as well. Again, the Mrs. was camera shy.

The pretty yellow petals are all falling onto the ground. I'm not sure if it is the birds landing on them and knocking them off or if they are merely falling off. They are not as pretty as they were. But the birds make up for the missing petals.
I planted some sunflowers in our garden, but they are slow to bloom. This is the first.
I also planted zinnias and they are in full bloom.

HAPPY SUNDAY!!!

What superior contrasts of the birds in the sunflowers [the hugeness of the flowers really shows up; making the birds look like mini bone china figurines...excellent!!]

Hope your duties lighten for you once everything is settled. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks for linking up this week at I'd Rather B Birdin'.

The orange colored sunflower is gorgeous, it is my favorite today! You will be getting lots of birds! You are good at finding hidden birds, too! Indigo Buntings are rare around here, so gorgeous! I have only seen one one time. SO glad the load is off!!

Looks like the sunflower patch was the happening spot for the birds. I really like that orange sunflower shot- beautiful.

Don't birds make pretty ornaments in trees and bushes, and even in flowers!?

Great photos!!! We have an Indigo Bunting...but he is very camera shy... I can't never get clear shot of him before he flies away :-( Pretty Sunflowers too. My first crop didn't fair well so I have a second crop that hopefully will be blooming soon. Just fro grins I planted a third crop yesterday. We'll see if they have time to do anything.

Wonderful 'finds' in your sunflower garden! And I love the burnt orange sunflower - haven't seen one of those before!

Glad to hear you'll be back to doing one job again. That had to be really stressful during the interim period.

Hope you have a great week!

glad things are working your way in the workplace. Home chores, well they'll always wait there for us. Loved the blue, then red birds 'mongst the yellows. Your own sunflower and your zinnias, beautiful to enjoy
