Owl Podge

This isn't a new picture. It is from a little over a year ago and I have posted it before. But, I'm running out of bad bird pics so dragged this pic out of the archives. Mr. Barred Owl. My pride and joy.

Linking to Wild Bird Wednesday

1. What would you say is the key to success?

Hard work and determination.

2. Have you ever been to the Florida Keys? Any desire to visit that part of the US of A?

I have never been to the keys. The farthest south I've been was Miami Beach. I would like to go, but I don't like bridges.

3. When and where did you last see a real live donkey? Monkey? Turkey?

I haven't seen a monkey since I last visited my Grands. Oh, you mean a REAL monkey. That was about 2 years ago at the zoo. I saw wild turkeys this past spring and I see a donkey at least once a week when I drive one of the back roads.

4. An old Portuguese proverb says, 'Beware of the door with too many keys.' What do you think this means? Share an example of how this has proven true or false in your own life.

I think this proverb refers to secrets. If you tell one person, that person might tell another, and so on and so on.  Sadly, I work with someone who comes into the office and appears to be your best buddy. Anything and everything you might say, is repeated and spread all around the county. So, if you don't want the door open, don't give out the keys.

5. Besides your home, vehicle, and special jewelry, what is something you keep under lock and key?

I can't think of anything other than the things mentioned. When I was young, I kept a diary which was always locked to try to prevent Bro O from reading my private thoughts. Of course, he could unlock it with a hairpin, so my private thoughts were no longer private. Lesson learned—never write anything down you don't want someone else to read.

6. When did you last get keyed up about something?

I read the definition of 'keyed-up' in the slang dictionary.  I wasn't sure if it was a good thing as in excited or a bad thing as in stressed. Seems more like a bad thing since the definition is a
nxious, nervous, queasy, uneasy, unquiet. The last time I was so nervous I was queasy was when JD and I got married. Coming up on 7 years ago. I had been single for 27 years. Big change!

7. Who thinks we need an easy one right about now?  Key lime pie...yes please or no thank you?

Yes please.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I think I have some sort of malware or virus that is messing with google chrome. It won't load and when it does it is very slow. so, I switched to firefox and it is basically doing the same thing. I have internet explorer 11, which is not compatible with blogger. Ugh! I hate computer problems. I've run scans but it never finds anything. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm up for listening.

We had a similar thing with our computer. We tried putting Google Chrome on our computer, but it somehow changed our search engine to Bing, which we hated because it caused us to get all sorts of ads and pop-ups. We switched over to Firefox and haven't had a problem since, thank goodnes. It was such a headache trying to get it all worked out, though. Good luck!

We use both Firefox and Google. Sometimes they both work and other times they can cause problems.

chrome and blogger have been acting weird for me, too. blogger comment box is very slow to load - double-up comments, etc.

What a great shot! My biggest deficiency in bird photos is owls. I have one VERY lousy dusk-time shot of a Horned Owl. That's it. This is a great shot!

I use Firefox as my main browser of choice. Do you use Windows Defender as virus protection?

Oh, your Barred Owl is so beautiful! "Who cooks for you? Who cooks for you all?!" ;-)

I tried earlier this morning to comment but the comment box would only come up blank. THEN I heard on the news that there has been another internet security breach. That may be influencing what is going on with your internet issues. It's simple, so you've probably already done it but in case not - have you cleared your cache and deleted cookies? I find that helps get rid of most of my issues.

I've been scanning for malware and viruses and nothing comes up, so now in the process of password updates. It's 'always' something, isn't it?!

i love owls ... what a great shot. i am always amazed by folks that get them - i was always told they never come out in the day. i wonder why this one was out?

( :

sorry to hear of your work buddy - i had several of those kind of work folks that drove me nuts. one reason why i left that job. i don't understand how folks like that have so many friends? i would rather have a friend who would keep my secrets. not sharing every thing to every one??! so nuts. not very respectable. my hubby use to tell me - go to work, you are not there to make friends. that is hard for me - i enjoy making new friends & don't want to feel i am only there to get a paycheck. i enjoy learning too!

Gorgeous owl! I don't like computer problems either and I don't like anything getting between me and my interwebs. We were having wifi issues on Monday and I thought I was going to blow! I used to use IE8 and then went back to IE7 and now I use Chrome all the time. No issues.. yet.

I hope it gets resolved soon, computer problems are very frustrating! Since I am a newer follower, I have never seen this superb owl shot. He looks like he is winking at you!

#3 made me giggle. Too cute. Great barred owl shot! Very nice the way you caught him with his eye closed.

Gorgeous owl! I have been kicked off the internet a couple of times today using Firefox as well as Facebook. I am seeing that as a black screen and so very slow in loading.

Sorry you are having computer issues. I am at the top of the list when it comes to computer frustration. I bought a new W7 from Dell in April and have been battling out problems since. They cannot solve my problem. Thinking of trading it on a refurbished one that at east works right. Should I ever need another one, I will buy one locally. I have ad pop ups too that are driving me crazy. Do not know how to stop them. Good luck.

What a splendid owl.

There is no long term solution to computer problems - once you fix one, the mind in the hard drive just starts thinking of another one!

I hope your computer problems are solved by now...if not, did you try running Malwarebytes? And did you turn off your computer for a few seconds? Sometimes just restarting it can help.
