Time for Some Good Fences

Springfield, Illinois
Abraham Lincoln's neighborhood.

The house Abrahm Lincoln lived in while Governor of Illinois.

We had a rushed trip, so didn't get to explore inside the house or any of these other houses in Lincoln's neighborhood.

Interesting board sidewalk.

Great place to find lots of fences for my Good Fences post.

This is my favorite of the houses. There is something about the clean colors of yellow and white together.

...and just for fun, Punky Doodle's Halloween fence!

Love all the fences around that neighbourhood and the house are quite impressive also.

You found quite an assortment of fences. Yellow houses don't normally appeal to me, but this is a warm, inviting yellow, and the white trim is perfect.

Roan, the inside of the house is really interesting with lots of stuff laid out as it might have been when Lincoln lived there. I've been there many times and always enjoyed it.

Oh that's too bad you didn't get inside, I have seen the entire tour! Very fun. At least you saw the outside, great little neighborhood how it's all set up, you can really have the sense of how it was for them. At his house, I saw in the backyard my first three hole outhouse, maybe you saw it too. Mary of course had a chair with a bowl in it (inside their bedroom) thanks for sharing such pretty photos of the place.

That Lincoln house is so adorable! I bet the inside is awesome too.

I like the yellow one the best, too! And that wooden sidewalk, it is so unusual!! Maybe it was done just because of being in front of Lincoln's house.

What a nice collection of fences! I need to add that area to my bucket list, which is getting longer and longer from looking at all the blogposts. Nice spooky fence too.

Very nice series on President Lincoln's home and neighborhood! We visited there a year ago in August and we, too, were not able to visit the interior of his home. We hope to make the trip back sometime as hubby loves Lincoln history.

I like Punky Doodle's fence - very cute decorations - the only type of spider that doesn't bother me! lol!

Those are some nice fences. And I love those spider lights! Would love to have them but I can't do lights anymore because of one of our cats. Tears.Up.Everything.
