Good Fences

It's darn cold outside! Currently 1° and that is actual temperature, not wind chill. We haven't had good enough weather to entice my camera outside. So, I dug through the archives and found some fences, but then saw this recent shot. I didn't take this pic, courtesy of Sonny Boy. He and his clan spent the holidays at Perdido Key, Florida. Lucky him! This is the beach.
 Perdido Key, Florida

Well, it is about a fence.

Findley

Fergus is such a nice, kind, and considerate dog. He is quiet and well mannered. Findley on the other hand, is the opposite. He is very vocal. He doesn't bark, but he talks. The second the alarm goes off, he starts in letting us know he wants out of his crate. I don't want to say he whines, although there are elements of whine there. Not sure how to describe it. He talks when he wants a drink or wants to go outside. Although he looks like Fergus, he is very different.

We found out a few breeds that 'could be' Findley's father. There is a Wire Haired Terrier, a Welsh Corgi, and a black and white Husky in the neighborhood. We ruled out the Corgi early on since Findley is much to tall. The vet thinks it is the Husky because of how vocal he is. Maybe we can tell more when he gets older.

Findley loves to eat, it's hard to fill him up, but he always eats laying down.  He is now affectionately known as Findley The Tank.

Cute dog! How I would love to be somewhere warmer after looking at your images of the beach. Nice fence shots!

I have never heard of a dog who eats laying down! That would make a great picture for your blog, I would love to see it. That sign is funny! It is 8 degrees here, so you win.

That beach scene is fantastic!

If Findley is exceptionally vocal, Husky sounds like a reasonable guess on his father. They love to "talk" and can be quite funny. Findley sure is a pretty boy.

I love the beach and fence scene, I wish I was there on a warm day.. It is cold here.. Your Findley looks like a real sweetie..His talking reminds me of how my Goldie Girl would "ask" for something she wanted.. very cute! Stay warm! Have a happy day!

I love the picture of Findley...I'll bet he is really lovable, despite the talking. The sign is very funny.

Thank you to your son for the wonderful beach photo! :)

And thanks for the ensuing laughs about 13!

Findley has certainly grown. It will be interesting to see if he gets to be larger than Fergus. "Talking" might be to an advantage some day. :)

Glad to see you back blogging again.

I drool at the thought of that fence on the beach ... we too are below 0, in fact it was minus 12 this morning with a windchill of -35. I can only put on so many cloths to go out and I do bundle Izzi up too, but we fly out the door, take care of business and fly back. This does not suit Izzi who is generally a very active dog. So we are playing a lot of games in the house and her toys are getting a good whipping around. Findly sounds like a cutie ... it will be fun to watch him grow up. I am curious now to see how he turns out ... Husky father ....hmmmm. Fun post Roan.

From the thumbnail, I thought that was a photo of a snow fence. It's so cold all over right now that I think most people would welcome a trip to the beach in FL. We're in northern Florida right now and it's pretty darn cold for these parts. Not complaining though. It's 45 degrees colder back home. What a sweet pic of Findley!

Beautiful beach -- maybe you can go with them next time (!). Oh but your beautiful dogs -- I bet you can't go away and leave them for very long (if I had them, I wouldn't want to either).
