The One That Almost Was

Eastern Phoebe...oops! Thanks Tex...Eastern Kingbird. I always get those two mixed up.
 Eastern Kingbird glaring at me.
Baltimore Oriole. I have seen several posts featuring this bird and I have commented that I haven't seen one around here in years. Last night, I saw one. All I could see was a glob of orange in a tree far far away. Even with the camera zoomed to the max, this is all the better I could do. I almost got a shot of him, but at least I have proof I did actually see one. :)
I like finding wildflowers almost as much as birds. So, I'm ending with a common variety around here.

Happy Sunday!!!

I have never seen a Baltimore Oriole anywhere near here, but I know people who have. Wonderful shots!

the larger bill and white tip of the tail makes me think that might be an eastern kingbird in your first 2 shots. :)

We have these up at home, in NE IL. I love the Kingbird. This year we have two pair of Orioles. I love seeing new birds when I travel with Bill. I saw a Bluebird in MA.

I adore wildflowers, and weeds, and I am a birdwatcher, so we have a lot in common. An exciting bird to spot!! This is a new flower for me, I have never heard of it. I have one in the yard that looks like it, is it common?

Oh boy...what a vivid color on the Oriole!! I don't think it's a bad photo at all...it's proof...and it's still pretty. Love the Kingbird also.

Thanks for linking up this weekend!
