This odd shaped buildilng was once a lumber yard. Back in the day it was a booming business. Now there is only this long building that once housed boards of all sizes. Seems a farmer found a good use for it, so it remains useful. The rest of the buildings have long since been demolished.
Punky Doodle and 3 of the Punks stopped by for a short visit yesterday. They were on their way back from seeing the Doodler, Punky's father, who lives in Southern Illinois. We decided to take a walk around Lincoln Log Cabin Historical Site to take advantage of this wonderful fall weather we are having. I happened upon this old barrell and a rusty bucket. Of course I thought of Rubbish Tuesday and snapped a shot.
Couldn't resist a picture of this old covered wagon. The kids all gathered around and actually allowed me to take some shots of them with the wagon in the background. I didn't even have to ask. Shocking.
We also stopped by to see Thomas Lincoln's and Sarah Busch Lincoln's grave. This is Thomas's stone.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you will join in the fun.
My idea was to have a place to post 'old things'. Anything old
and/or deteriorating such as, but not limited to, old houses, barns, outbuildings, old cars, rusty things, antiques, interesting junk, or it can be something in pristine condition, but just old.
1. Link to a post featuring photos of something old.
2. Link back to Rubbish by Roan in your post.
3. As time allows, visit other participants and comment on their posts.

That grave marker would make a good fence image share.
LOVE the covered wagon...reminds me of Little House on the Prairie
I recently visited an Amish carriage shop that was restoring a covered wagon ...neat! Have a great week. Tom The Backroads Traveller
Oh Roan these are wonderful photos I love the barrel and the bucket. I am so happy you had a nice visit and some fun with the kids. Don't work to hard:) Hug B
I have never seen the inside of a covered wagon and would love to!
I'd like to have seen the sawmill in operation. I've only seen them on TV. Love that wagon!
Imagine that covered wagon being your home for months! Always read all the diaries I can find of people traveling west. Just amazing what people can do if they have to.
Love that old barrel and bucket....and at least one of the buildings got put to use.
I think the boat in my post works this week. Have a good and busy week of work!
really like the old barrel losing its staves and bands. :) sweet!
Great photos of days gone by! I would love to go back, if time travel was possible...just to experience it first hand. I'm pretty sure I couldn't last longer than one day, if that!!
Love the barrel and the wagon too. Sounds like a nice visit with your family.
Wonderful shots! I think my favorite is the one of the barrel and old rusty bucket. I like the covered wagon too!
Absolutely LOVE the old barrel and the rusty bucket! Great photo! Loved seeing Thomas Lincoln's grave, too....especially since he's my grandson's great-great-great-great uncle! :-) Wonderful photos of all...loved the covered wagon too. Glad to be able to join in today!
I like the old covered wagon, barrel, great shots.
Great photos, mostly I like the covered wagon.
Greetings from Germany :-)
I love the Wagon!!! And I think this old barrel would actually look good beside my porch with some hay and pumpkins on and around it!
I love seeing all the great old stuff. Thanks for hosting this meme.
Just FYI, a lot of people don't understand why the murals are allowed to be in the Denver Airport, but the airport is privately funded, as I mentioned, and the people who control it believe that there will be a cataclysm and then a new world will emerge (New World Order) when most people will be gone and the children of the world will inherit a time of peace, but with the elite in charge. This is one of their ways of telling us what is going on, without trumpeting it loudly. It's like the Georgia Guidestones (look them up if you don't know about them). Just thought you might find it interesting. We just wanted to see them for ourselves.
That covered wagon is so cool! I wish I could participate in your fun meme. But since I do only nature and birds, it won't work for me. I'm glad it's starting to catch on. It's a great idea!
I find it so interesting seeing things I used to take for granted.

These are great photos! I keep forgetting that Rubbish Tuesday is actually on Monday. I'll try to remember next week. :-)
Lovely shots - that old covered wagon is fabulous!
The old barrel and rusty bucket are so evocative!
Great Rubbish! I especially like the barrel.
Nice pictures. I think I weight the word rubbish a little more then the old but an excellent idea.
I love the old wagon-very cool. I am fascinated with old fencing in graveyards..very ornate..just beautiful. This one looks like it is well kept.
Love all your photos. I wonder what piece of equipment that John Deere is? The grave marker in itself tells quite a story after what you told us last week about Lincoln.
Intersting photos and a great wagon.
i really love that old covered wagon, reminds me of little house on the prairie!
I think everyone likes seeing a covered wagon of days gone by.
Imagine transporting the family in one of those wagons, hard to imagine.
