the bird d'pot

We went down to the garden last evening to pick the last of the tomatoes. The garden is finished with the exception of the gourds.

The sunflowers are all looking down.

There were lots of goldfinches enjoying the crop.

The males are molting. Fall is here, or will be in another 8 days.

Excellent!!! Next season, I just may have to resort to planting some sunflowers [the kind that grow big!] to attract these beauties!!

thanks for linking in this weekend.

I love watching the birds on sunflowers...I can really spend some time doing that.

That's the good news. I've been waiting for fall since last fall! I will miss the sunflowers, though.

I never have gotten to see the Goldfinches in their beautiful summer colors. Jealous.

So sad, all going away...the goldfinch shot is so sweet.

Cute little birds. It's really starting to feel like autumn here. The colours are changing and the leaves are starting to fall down.

Oh, I so agree with Buttons...I have made this statement many times...there IS beauty in every stage of life.
